The Little Month

Why is February so little? Because March stole 3 days right out her middle!

February is the shortest month and she's got a chip on her shoulder about it. In 2008 she didn't even show up for work. Luckily January & March stepped up to the plate to run it for her!

Commissioned by the egg theatre at Theatre Royal Bath, we published a booklet of 28 days of activities, illustrated by Hannah Broadway. The 7 days across half-term unfolded like a soap-opera but audiences had to solve the quest in the booklet to find the scene of the day! Locations included the canal, Rainbow Woods, Bath City Farm, and even the Theatre Royal Bath itself.

All the activities related specifically to the day and could only be done in the right place and time.

The next year we released a 12-part podcast series, each episode hosted by a calendar month talking about their favourite traditions and festivals!

The Little Month took place from the 1st - 28th February 2009.

The project was commissioned by the award-winning egg theatre at Theatre Royal Bath, as part of their inaugural Family Theatre Festival, in which family theatre performances took over all three auditoria at TRB and, in the case of The Little Month, spilled out all over the City of Bath!

The Little Month activity booklet was designed by Hannah Broadway, a designer, author and illustrator with a background in theatre.
